PPKRC Race weekend update for July 28 and 29

It's Official, Race #1 scheduled for 28/29 July has been moved to the New SBR Motorsports Park located at 21430 Spencer Road in Calhan, CO 80808.

Basic race weekend info is as follows:

Saturday test and tune 0900-6:00pm. Driver fee $35.00 all day. Non-driver/crew chief and spectators are free on Saturday only. If you are attending the race on Sunday, get your pit pass Saturday.

Sunday Race Day 0800 to 4:00 pm or until complete. Driver registration fee: $70.00 for 2012 PPKRC members, non-members $90.00. Driver pit -pass/wrist band and one pit spot included. All non-drivers/crew chiefs and spectator pit-passes only $10.00.

Notes:

1. Transponders will be required. If you do not have a transponder, a limited supply of transponders is available to rent from the club for $25.00 a day. If you need to rent a transponder, try to do so in advance no later than Saturday morning the day before race day and pre-register at that time as well, (one transponder per kart please). If you do not have a transponder, you will not be scored.

2. Although PPKRC is a TAG USA Regional Series you DO NOT need to be a 2012 TAG USA member to race at a PPKRC event, unless you plan on running at the TAG World Finals. However, to get the member discounts, series points and end of year awards benefits, one must be a 2012 PPKRC Member. We are currently updating our forms on the PPKRC website. One change will be a simplified registration form and pre-registration process with a reduced cost for annual membership of $35.00 per year per driver and $85.00 per year for Family membership.

3. Our rules and class structure remains the same as last year. However, full width CIK approved rear bumpers are now mandatory. Tires and fuel is open just like last year. Be advised, unfortunately for our first race at SBR, tires, fuel, oil and any needed support parts will not be available at the track, so come prepared.

4. Safety remains paramount. We will not compromise on the security and safety requirements of all karts and safety apparel. So make sure you know and comply with the PPKRC safety inspection/pre-tech checklist requirements. The form is on the PPKRC website. Those forms must be completed, signed and turned into the Pre-Grid Marshall before entering the track for qualifying. Additionally, do not forget to have your transponder charged up and properly secured to your kart before race day warm-ups so that timing and scoring can verify you are being scored before qualifying begins.
